You already know that Reparel’s bioactive fabric absorbs the thermal energy generated by inflammation and reflects it back to the site of an injury. Below explains a little more about Reparel’s fabric and how it does that, without giving away our ‘secret sauce.’
During manufacturing of our products, an elemental semiconductor material is ground into minuscule nanoparticles and added to Reparel’s thread using a centrifuge process. These threads are spun into three-dimensional cylindrical shapes that when woven together eliminate seams while reinforcing overall durability. Reparel’s fabric is proven to reflect thermal energy at near-infrared and mid-infrared wavelengths. This infrared light is of the same frequencies as used by cold laser therapy (also called low-level laser therapy or LLLT) which has been shown in thousands of randomized and controlled studies to have a positive effect on acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain and inflammation.
Reparel’s two fabric types target different depths of the tissue to optimally heal different injury types. In fabric ACU, the energy is directed to the subcutaneous tissue (the deepest layer of your skin) to address acute inflammation like surgical recovery. In fabric CHR, it is directed deeper into the supporting tissue to support healing from chronic or degenerative injuries. Here, the fabric works to ease the ischemic cascade (inadequate blood supply) that leads to cell death, pain, swelling, inflammation, and loss of function.
